DESCRIPTION
Having managed many campaigns for blue water adventures, Frank knew to invest time in finding the right talent for the job. The list of companies that we engaged to prepare Nogal while in Sausalito are considered the best in the industry:
Easom Riggin San Francisco Bay Area (rigging)
LTD Marine San Francisco Bay Area (electrical)
Swedish Marine San Francisco Bay Area (watermaker, refrigeration and aircon)
Ferrari Shipwright San Francisco Bay Area (interior)
Seaport Stainless, San Francisco Bay Are (custom galley stainless)
Blue Planet Energy (lithium and solar package)
Antrim Designs, San Francisco Bay Area (carbon spar design)
Nogal is an Atlantic 57 catamaran designed by Chris White, built with the highest attention to detail with consideration given to performance, comfort and safety. From the moment you step aboard Nogal you cannot fail to notice the fine craftsmanship and attention to detail that earned the builders of Alwoplast yachts their reputation.
As you walk along the decks, no matter where you look, from the engineering of the deck hardware to the rigging, you become immediately aware that everything has a solid and reliable feel.
Inside, Nogal is stylish and modern with an exceptional walnut finish.
On the mechanical side, two 55HP Volvo engines are enough to drive Nogal at 9 knots. The 200+ gallons of fuel capacity provides power for long-range cruising.
Redundancy was a main focus when preparing Nogal for her recent circumnavigation. She was prepared to stay off the grid and beyond the reach of supply lines for extended periods.
Electricity is provided by two separate banks of solar panels with a combined output of 1,500 watts.
The three-speed button operated electrical winches make sailing easy and pleasurable for this is a yacht providing luxury at a level that you need only step onboard to appreciate.
Nogal is continually maintained to the highest standards and is completely turnkey for setting sail immediately.

Accommodation
Nogal's layout is galley down, with a spacious owner's suite with two aft cabins and one forward crew cabin. The cockpit is open and is great for entertaining.
Cabins: 4
Berths: 4 total, 2 Queen and 2 King. This is the only Atlantic 57 with king beds in the midship cabins. The large square berths allow for different sleeping positions depending on conditions. We also found a huge advantage to these king suites which each have a a 4000 btu airconditioning unit. We used the suites as lounges where four people could spend the uncomfortably hot days on the equator with aircon produced by solar power alone.
Covers & Shades: Stainless frame with intergrated lights and soft bimini covering aft deck with 7 feet of headroom. This structure adds rigidity to the dinghy boom pick points allowing us to make passages while carrying the dinghy off the transom. This never presented a problem while under way.

The Z-Ion system introduces a stream of metallic ions that kill the organisms in your watermaker and create an environment that prohibits them from growing and going anaerobic. The result is that your system will be kept ready to operate without any additional flushing, external power sources, pickling chemicals, or complex procedures. The whole operation is completely automatic, controlled by the MPC control and the Z-ion circuit. Spectra claims it will protect your watermaker for up to 3 months, without requiring additional flushes or external power being present.
